Sergio Maciel is a higher education professional whose work centers on promoting personal growth and lifelong education through advising. As a College Corps Advisor, Sergio sustains an advising practice grounded in one-on-one engagement with College Corps Fellows at UC Davis.

A proud graduate of the University of California, Davis, Sergio earned degrees in Economics and Political Science - Public Service. As an undergraduate, Sergio served as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Fellow during the 2023-24 academic year, working in close partnership with the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and senior campus leadership on institutional priorities spanning student learning and success, as well as the systems, programs, and partnerships that shape the UC Davis student experience.

Sergio is also a Research Fellow with the Campaign for College Opportunity, supporting research focused on higher education access and outcomes. He also serves as Co-Chair of the UC Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association Legislative Committee, helping guide systemwide advocacy priorities and engagement with state policymakers.
